The County Department of Audit and Control is hereby authorized, empowered and directed, pursuant to §
C5-2 of the Suffolk County Charter, to mail the notice of the outcome, either approval or rejection, of any application made for correction of errors on tax rolls or refunds of taxes as set forth in §§ 552, 553, 554, 555, 556, 556-a, 556-b, 556-d, 557 and 558 of the New York Real Property
Tax Law in lieu of the County Legislature mailing such notice of approval
or rejection in order to comply with the provisions of Charter Article
XXIV, Paperwork Reduction and Regulatory Reform.
This article shall apply to all notices forwarded on or after
the effective date of this article.
