Editor's Note: On 6-26-1928 the Board of Trustees adopted an ordinance dealing with fireworks and revolvers. The only available copy of this ordinance reads as follows:
"At a meeting of the Village Board held Tuesday, June 26, 1928, an ordinance was passed prohibiting the sale of fireworks within the Village limits without a permit; also no revolvers to be sold."
No person shall be permitted to have in his possession in the open, outside of a building or structure, any air gun, spring gun, gas gun, shotgun or rifle, unless such gun or rifle is enclosed in some container so as to prevent its discharge without the removal of the gun or rifle from said container.

Any person found guilty of violating this chapter shall be subject to a fine of $25 for the first offense and not to exceed $100 for each subsequent offense and shall, in addition, be subject to imprisonment for not to exceed 30 days in the county jail, or shall be liable to both fine and imprisonment, in the discretion of the Judge trying the case; and such violation shall also constitute disorderly conduct, and the person violating the same shall be a disorderly person.
In addition to the penalties above prescribed, it shall be the duty of each peace officer who observes the violation of this chapter to take the gun or rifle from the person violating the chapter and to hold same, subject to the orders of the court.
This chapter shall not apply to the exceptions specified in paragraph 13 of Section 1897 of the Penal Law.[1]
