Whereas the Borough of Wilmerding adopted standard property and building codes by Ordinance No. 996 [1] and the Borough desires to amend one provision of the Property Maintenance Code adopted, this article is enacted pursuant to the authority of the Pennsylvania Borough Code[2] and is deemed to be in the best interest of the residents of Wilmerding Borough.

As of the effective date of this article, Section 304 of the 2006 International Property Maintenance Code is amended is follows.
A. 
A new section is added, to be numbered Section 304.13.3, and read as follows:
304.13.3 Vacant building. In the event any commercial or nonresidential building becomes vacant, the owner, tenant, manager or other person or entity in possession or control shall provide a cover or some substance on all windows to prevent a passerby from being able to see inside the structure.
