There is hereby established the office of City Engineer, which
shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the City Manager.
The City Engineer may be appointed as a regular full-time employee
or retained in a consulting capacity by contractual agreement, when
the City Manager determines a regular full-time appointment is not
in the best interest of the City. When and in the event of regular
full-time appointment, the City Engineer shall devote his/her full
time and effort to his/her official duties including: oversight of
the Department of Public Works; preparation of plans and specifications
for street and drainage construction and maintenance inspection and
such other duties as may be required of him/her by the City Manager.
