A. During
any period or periods of dryness and increased danger of fire within
the City, the Mayor is hereby authorized to declare a fire emergency
for such length of time as the Mayor determines said emergency conditions
exist. The Mayor is hereby empowered to regulate the use of fireworks
and is hereby empowered to ban all outside burning within the City
of Weston, Missouri, and in furtherance of said powers the Mayor shall
have the authority to do any one (1) or more of the following:
1. Limit
the type of fireworks that may be discharged in the City of Weston,
Missouri;
2. Ban
all discharge of fireworks within the City of Weston, Missouri;
3. Allow
a public display of fireworks and no other discharge of fireworks
within the City of Weston, Missouri;
4. Prohibit
the sale of fireworks within the City of Weston, Missouri;
B. In the
event such emergency is declared by the Mayor as provided in this
Section, a notice of the declaration of such emergency and the regulations
invoked by the Mayor shall be posted in any public place within City
Hall and at such other place or places as the Mayor may deem reasonable
and appropriate to inform the public.
C. In the
absence of the Mayor the President of the Board of Aldermen shall
have all powers granted to the Mayor by this Section.
