A. The
Board of Aldermen does hereby create the position of Clerical Assistant.
The City may employ one (1) or more Clerical Assistants from time
to time as the Board of Aldermen believes appropriate. The Clerical
Assistant position is not a City Official subject to the laws of the
City or the State of Missouri pertaining to elected or appointed officials.
The Clerical Assistant position shall be subject to the following
requirements:

1. Hiring. The Clerical Assistant shall be employed
upon the recommendation of the City Administrator/City Clerk and approval
by a majority of the full Board of Aldermen and the Clerical Assistant
shall report to and be under the direct supervision of the City Administrator/
City Clerk. The Clerical Assistant is not a City Official subject
to the laws of the City or the State of Missouri pertaining to elected
or appointed officials.
2. Duties. The Clerical Assistant will perform duties
as directed by the Mayor and/or City Administrator/City Clerk including,
but not limited to, providing clerical assistance to the Mayor and
City Administrator/City Clerk, handling phone calls and public inquiries,
opening and routing mail, taking citizen complaints and forwarding
to appropriate officer keeping a record of same, receiving permit
applications properly handling until approval/denial.
3. Compensation. The Clerical Assistant shall receive
compensation and work such hours as set by ordinance by the Board
of Aldermen.
