The Village of Potsdam shall contain on and after the effective
date of this article, in addition to the territory theretofore contained
within its boundaries, the following described territory, to wit:
A.
Clarkson University Property: All that tract or parcel of land situate
in the Town of Potsdam, County of St. Lawrence, State of New York,
lying southeasterly of Hatch Road being described as follows: Beginning
at point in the centerline of Hatch Road at the most northerly corner
of a parcel of land as conveyed to the Village of Potsdam by Clarkson
University by deed dated May 1, 2007, and recorded in the office of
the St. Lawrence County Clerk as Instrument Number 2007-7826, and
running: thence northeasterly along the centerline of Hatch Road as
it curves to the right a distance of 461.2 feet, said course having
a tie chord bearing North 44 degrees 22 minutes 35 seconds East a
distance of 447.40 feet to a point in the centerline of Hatch Road;
thence North 61 degrees 52 minutes 49 seconds East along the centerline
of Hatch Road a distance of 1167.46 feet to the northwesterly corner
of a parcel of land as conveyed to Clarkson University by the Village
of Potsdam by deed dated April 25, 1989 and recorded in the office
of the St. Lawrence County Clerk in Liber of Deeds 1033 at page 88;
thence North 62 degrees 11 minutes 24 seconds East along the centerline
of Hatch Road a distance of 538.32 feet to the northeasterly corner
of said Clarkson University parcel; thence South 27 degrees 01 minutes
53 seconds East along the easterly bounds of said Clarkson University
parcel a distance of 192.25 feet to the northeasterly corner of a
parcel of land as conveyed to the Village of Potsdam by Clarkson University
by deed dated June 14, 1990 and recorded in the office of the St.
Lawrence County Clerk in Liber of Deeds 1040 at page 1112; thence
South 44 degrees 31 minutes 11 seconds West along the northerly bounds
of said Village of Potsdam parcel a distance of 2013.69 feet to the
southeasterly corner of the Village of Potsdam parcel (Instrument
Number 2007-7826) cited above; thence North 45 degrees 29 minutes
09 seconds West along the easterly bounds of said Village of Potsdam
parcel a distance of 693.00 feet to the point of beginning; to contain
an area of 1016451 square feet (23.33 acres) of land, more or less,
as surveyed by Stephen L. Chatelle, land surveyor of WCT Surveyors,
P.C., subject to and together with any easements, exceptions, conditions,
covenants and claims and rights of record.
B.
Village of Potsdam Property: Property Tax Map Identification #65.001-2-31
in its entirety containing approximately 157.7 acres.
The territory described in § 7-31 of this article is hereby annexed to the Village of Potsdam pursuant to the provisions of § 714 of the General Municipal Law.
The annexation of the above territory described in § 7-28 of this article shall become effective on the 17th day of November 2014.
