The annual fee for a plenary retail consumption license, a plenary retail distribution license and a club license are set forth in Chapter
212, Fees.
No licensee shall sell, serve or deliver, or allow, permit or
suffer the sale, service or delivery of, any alcoholic beverages,
or allow the consumption of any alcoholic beverages, on licensed premises
on Monday to Friday, inclusive, between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and
8:00 a.m., and on Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 3:00 a.m.
and 8:00 a.m. The closing hour on New Year's Day shall be 5:00
a.m. if that day falls on a Sunday; otherwise, no closing hour is
fixed.
During the hours that sales are prohibited in accordance with the provisions of §
128-2 hereof, the entire licensed premises shall be closed, and no person shall be permitted to remain thereon during such hours except the licensee, his bona fide employees and any officer of the law duly authorized to enforce municipal, state or federal regulations regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages or to make investigations pertaining thereto; provided, however, that the closing of the premises and the exclusion of persons therefrom shall not apply to hotels, to restaurants as defined in N.J.S.A. 33:1-1t or to other establishments where the principal business is other than the sale of alcoholic beverages.
No more than five plenary retail consumption licenses and one
plenary retail distribution license shall be issued and outstanding
in the Township of Washington at the same time. Not more than one
retail license shall be granted to any person, corporation, partnership,
limited partnership or association in the Township of Washington,
and said license shall cover only the licensed premises. Not more
than five club licenses shall be issued and outstanding at the same
time.
No person shall be served alcoholic beverages in any back room
or any side room which is not open to the use of the public generally,
except in the case of club licenses, where no person shall be served
alcoholic beverages in any room which is not open to the use of the
members generally.
During all hours when any premises on which alcoholic beverages
are sold, distributed or dispensed shall be open for business under
a plenary retail consumption license, said premises shall be and remain
lighted throughout, either naturally or artificially, so that each
and every person or object therein shall be and remain clearly discernible
for a distance of 25 feet.
No person shall hold a license or be employed in the serving
or sale of alcoholic beverages in any licensed premises unless and
until his name and address, together with his fingerprints, have been
furnished to and filed with the Police Department of the Township
of Washington; except, however, that this provision shall not apply
to temporary employees employed in any such licensed premises for
less than two days consecutively.
