Union Fire Company No. 1, organized and existing in the Borough
of Oxford, Chester County, Pennsylvania, is hereby recognized as the
official fire company for the Borough, in order that Union Fire Company
No. 1 and its members may derive the full benefit of governmental
immunity and workers compensation statutes, rules and regulations.

1. Union Fire Company No. 1 is hereby authorized to provide such services
to the Borough as may be necessary for the protection of property
and persons situate therein, including, by way of example but not
of limitation, the following:
A. Prevention of loss or injury to persons and property from fire, automobile
accidents, medical emergencies, hazardous materials and like dangerous
eventualities.
B. Removal of water from property after storms, assistance in the removal,
abatement and prevention of damage or injury to persons or property,
whether through natural or man-made causes, and performance of like
public service functions of an emergency or nonemergency nature.
C. Conducting and participation in such educational or training activities,
either within or outside of the Borough, as may be deemed necessary
by the officers of the Company to maintain proficiency in providing
service.
D. Responding to calls and providing service to municipalities outside
of the Borough.
E. Operating at nondispatched events such as community events, parades,
and other similar events, which operations may include the direction
of traffic by fire police officers. Permission for fire police operations
at nondispatched events to be conducted within the Borough shall be
granted by official action of Borough Council, at its discretion,
following a request by Union Fire Company No. 1. Permission for fire
police operations at nondispatched events occurring outside of the
Borough but within the Fire Company's first response area shall be
granted by official action of the governing body of the municipality
in which the event is to be conducted.

1. In addition to participating in the activities authorized in §
1-502 above, or in going to or returning from any authorized activity, the members of Union Fire Company No. 1 are authorized to do the following when properly approved by an officer of the Company:
A. Participate in any type of drill, training, education, ceremony,
practice, test or parade.
B. Engage in fundraising activities benefitting Union Fire Company No.
1.
C. Engage in the performance of any other duty or activity intended
for the proper benefit of Union Fire Company No. 1.
The Oxford Firemen's Relief Association is hereby duly recognized
by the Oxford Borough Council as the Firemen's Relief Association
of Oxford Borough, and all moneys received by the Borough of Oxford
from the State Treasurer for or on account of any Firemen's Relief
Fund Association will be by the said Oxford Borough Council promptly
paid over and appropriated to the Oxford Firemen's Relief Association,
the same having sometime theretofore been incorporated.
