The Floodplain Overlay zone is designed to provide additional
regulations for certain areas of the City which require special protection
during development. The boundaries of the Floodplain Overlay are coterminous
with the 100-year floodplain as determined by the latest FEMA FIRM
Maps.

A. Buildings Prohibited Within Floodway. No buildings shall be constructed
within the designated floodway portion of any 100-year floodplain.
B. Development In Flood Fringe. Areas located in a 100-year floodplain
and designated as part of the flood fringe may be developed provided
all buildings are constructed at least one (1) foot above the base
flood elevation (BFE).
