As used in this article, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
ALMS
Money or things of value donated to a solicitor.
FRAUDULENT MANNER
The receipt of alms through fraudulent actions including,
but not limited to, the asking of, or soliciting of alms, through
use of any of the following misrepresentations:
A.
Fraudulently stating or expressing that the donation is needed
to meet a specific need, when no such need exists.
B.
Fraudulently stating or expressing that the solicitor is collecting
alms as a member or agent of a charitable or civic organization with
which the solicitor is unaffiliated.
C.
Fraudulently stating or expressing that the solicitor has a
physical disability through means including, but not limited to, the
use of any makeup or device to simulate deformity, when no such need
exists.
SOLICITOR
Anyone who asks for or solicits alms.
