Any person who wishes to use Park Lake Beach shall purchase
from the Borough Clerk a beach badge. The purchase of a beach badge
shall imply that the person acquiring the badge agrees to adhere to
all of the rules and regulations for the Park Lake Beach recreation
area in the Borough of Rockaway promulgated by the Recreation Department
and adopted by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Rockaway. The
beach badge shall be worn by all persons when utilizing the beach
area.
Anyone wishing to obtain a beach badge shall make application to the Borough Clerk. There shall be charged to each person applying for a beach badge the sum as provided in Chapter
A263, Fees. Badges may be obtained on a per-family basis at the cost as provided in Chapter
A263, Fees. At the time of application for a family badge, the names of those persons living within the family household must be stated and the person applying for the family badge must certify that each of such persons resides on a full-time basis in that household.
The beach badges shall be valid for one summer season.
The Recreation Director shall have the right to waive the collection
of a portion or all of the fee to be charged for beach badges upon
a showing by the person requesting such waiver or upon the recommendation
of a welfare director, a social worker or some other party familiar
with the need of the applicant indicating that the person making application
for such beach badge cannot afford to pay for said beach badge. Any
request for a waiver shall be submitted in writing, addressed to the
Recreation Director, setting forth the reasons why a waiver is requested
or setting forth the recommendation of the welfare director, social
director or someone so affiliated with the individual.
The issuance to any individual or to a family of a beach badge
shall be solely deemed to be a license to utilize the facilities of
the Borough of Rockaway and shall be subject to revocation upon showing
of a violation of the rules and regulations for said facility or upon
good cause being shown that the individual or family has abused the
license and privilege or has failed to abide by the proper rules and
regulations of the Recreation Department.
