No person shall set fire to or burn or cause to be burned any rubbish, building materials, wastepaper, garbage, leaves, grass, parts of trees or bushes or garden refuse, or other materials, in open fires or in closed receptacles, in any area, public or private, within the confines of the Village. This chapter, however, shall not be deemed to prohibit the burning of fuel of any nature in indoor or outdoor heating or cooking apparatus or campfires or fires for other recreational purposes, provided that such fires do not create a nuisance.

Any person violating the provisions of this chapter or any part thereof shall be subject to and shall forfeit a fine or penalty in the amount established by the Board of Trustees, by duly adopted resolution, for each offense as set forth in Chapter 1, Article V, of the Code.
