In accordance with the provisions of Section 1001 of the Act of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, February 1, 1966, as last reenacted, revised and amended,[2] compensation shall be paid to the lawfully qualified and acting members of the Borough Council of the Borough of Middletown, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, at the rate of $125 per month, and the President of the Borough Council shall also receive an additional $50 per month so that his total monthly compensation shall be $175.

Compensation shall be paid in any month to such Councilman who either attends the Council meeting or committee meetings or performs councilmanic work of any nature, and it shall not be deemed a reason for nonpayment of compensation by reason of the fact that the Councilman, for good cause shown, has failed to attend the regular meeting of the Borough Council; provided, however, that he has performed such other duties as are herewith enumerated.[1]
