A. 
Word usage. In this Article, when not inconsistent with the context, words used in the present tense include the future; words in the plural number include the singular number; and words in the singular number include the plural number. The word "shall" is always mandatory and not merely directory.
B. 
For the purposes of this Article, the following terms, phrases, words and their derivations shall have the meaning given herein:
PERSON
Any person, firm, partnership, association, corporation, company or organization of any kind.
TOWNSHIP
The Township of Saddle Brook, Bergen County, New Jersey.
WATER
Water from the Township water supply system.
The provisions of this Article shall apply to all persons using water within the Township regardless of whether any such person shall have a contract for water services with the Township.
The use and withdrawal of water by any person between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. during the period in any calendar year commencing May 1 to September 30 of each such calendar year for the following purposes are hereby prohibited:
A. 
Watering yards. The sprinkling, watering or irrigating of shrubbery, trees, lawns, grass, ground covers, plants, vines, gardens, vegetables, flowers or any other vegetation.
B. 
Washing mobile equipment. The washing by hose or automatic equipment of automobiles except where such washing is in connection with or relates to a business or commercial enterprise.
C. 
Cleaning outdoor surfaces. The washing of sidewalks, driveways, filling station aprons, porches and other outdoor surfaces.
D. 
Cleaning buildings. The washing of the outside of dwellings.
E. 
Swimming pools. The filling of swimming or wading pools.
Any person found violating the provisions of this Article shall be fined not to exceed $200 for each violation thereof and be subjected to imprisonment for not to exceed 30 days. Offenses on separate days shall be deemed to be separate offenses for the purposes of this Article.
A. 
Police officers enforce. Every police officer of the Township shall, in connection with his duties imposed by law, diligently enforce the provisions of this Article.
B. 
Discontinuance of service. The Township Council shall have the authority to enforce the provisions of this Article by the discontinuance of water service in the event of violation hereof.
