Supervised public displays of fireworks, as defined in the Act of 1939,
P.L. 134, are hereby permitted within the Borough of Downingtown, under
conditions set forth in such Act and under the following additional conditions:
A. The Borough Council is hereby authorized to grant permits
for supervised public displays of fireworks, to be held within the Borough
by any municipality, organization or group of individuals.
B. Investigations and inspections, as required by law to
be made prior to the issuance of any such permit, shall be made by the Chief
of the Fire Department and/or any other officer who shall be designated by
the Borough Council for such purpose.
C. General liability insurance shall be required to be filed
by every holder of a permit for a supervised public display of fireworks and
shall be not less than $1,000,000 in any case, the actual amount to be determined
by the Council in each case at the time of granting such permit and to be
based upon the special conditions applicable to the display for which such
permit is to be granted.
