As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
LASER LIGHTING DEVICE
A hand-held device which emits a laser light beam that is designed to be used by the operator as a pointer or highlighter to indicate, mark or identify a specific position, place, item or object.
A. 
A person shall not sell, offer to sell, give or otherwise provide a laser lighting device to a person under 18 years of age, except as otherwise permitted in Subsection B of this section.
B. 
The provisions of Subsection A shall not apply if the laser lighting device is temporarily transferred to the person under the age of 18 years for educational or other lawful purpose and the person to whom the laser lighting device is temporarily transferred is under the direct supervision of a parent, legal guardian, teacher, employer or other responsible adult.
It is unlawful for any person in the Township of Brick to focus, point or shine a laser beam directly or indirectly onto another person in such a manner as to harass, annoy or injure said person.
It shall be unlawful for any person to use a laser lighting device in such a manner that the laser beam illuminates a uniformed law enforcement officer, fire fighter or emergency services personnel within the Township of Brick.
It shall be unlawful for any person to use a laser lighting device in such a manner that the laser beam illuminates the operator of a motor vehicle within the Township of Brick.
It shall be unlawful for any person to use a laser pointer in any public place within the Township of Brick.
Violations of the provisions of this chapter shall be punishable as provided in Chapter 1, § 1-15, General penalty.
