The Board of Supervisors of Mahoning Township hereby agrees to enter into membership in the Montour County Council of Governments.
The Bylaws of the Montour County Council of Governments are hereby acknowledged and Mahoning Township agrees to abide by the provisions contained in the Bylaws, a copy of which is made a part hereof, attached to this chapter and marked Exhibit "A."[1]

The duration of the participation of the Township in the Council of Governments shall be perpetual unless the Township withdraws from the Council of Governments as provided in the Bylaws by the adoption of an ordinance rescinding its participation.
The purposes and objectives of the participation of the Township in the Council of Governments is set forth in Article II of the Bylaws
The manner and extent of financing the participation of the Township in the Council of Governments shall be determined by the Council of Governments as set forth in Article VIII of the Bylaws.
The organizational structure necessary to implement the participation of the Township in the Council of Governments as set forth in Articles VI and VII of the Bylaws.
Any property, either real or personal, shall be acquired, managed, licensed or disposed of by the Council of Governments as set forth in Article IV concerning Council action.
The Council of Government shall be empowered to enter into contracts for policies of group insurance and employee benefits, including social security, for its employees.
