The city adopts Public Act 18 of the Extra Session of 1933, as amended, and pursuant thereto a Commission is hereby created by and for
the city to be known as the "Roseville Housing Commission."
The Mayor and City Manager are hereby directed to jointly appoint the
members of said Roseville Housing Commission as soon as possible after this
chapter shall take effect. The term of office of the members of the Housing
Commission shall be five years. Members of the first Commission, however,
shall be appointed for terms of one year, two years, three years, four years
and five years, respectively, and annually thereafter one member shall be
appointed for the term of five years. Members of the Commission shall serve
without compensation and may be removed from office by the appointing authorities.
Any vacancy in office shall be filled by the appointing authorities for the
remainder of the unexpired term.
Said Roseville Housing Commission shall have all the powers and duties
vested or permitted to be vested in housing commissions by said Public Act
No. 18 of the Extra Session of 1933, as heretofore or hereafter amended, and any laws heretofore or hereafter enacted which are supplemental
thereto, it being the intention of this chapter to have vested in the Roseville
Housing Commission all powers and duties permitted by law.
The Commission shall prescribe the duties of all of its officers and
employees and may, with the approval of the appointing authorities, fix their
compensation. For the purpose of this chapter, engineers, architects and consultants
are deemed "employees."
