All new construction within the Consolidated
Sewer District, where public sewer is within 100 feet of the property
line, shall connect to the public sewer.
Additions
to an existing building/structure within the Consolidated Sewer District
which result in a need for increased sewage treatment capacity must
connect to public sewers where public sewer is within 100 feet of
the property line; and/or
A change
in use to an existing building/structure within the Consolidated Sewer
District which results in a need for increased sewage treatment capacity
must connect to public sewers where public sewer is within 100 feet
of the property line.
When there
is an addition to an existing building/structure or change in use,
and it is the applicant's desire to continue to use the existing on-site
private system, the applicant's engineer must provide an estimate
of sewage flow (GPD) due to the addition or the proposed new use of
the building to confirm that the existing on-site system has adequate
capacity. In addition, the applicant's engineer is to certify that
the existing private on-site system is functioning properly. All documentation
provided by the applicant's engineer must be reviewed and approved
by the Town Engineer at the applicant's expense.
