The Allegheny County Fire Marshal is required by Act P.L.
723, passed July 28, 1953, to administer rules and regulations governing the
use and storage of flammable and combustible liquids and dangerous chemicals.
The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal Code covering these regulations
was adopted by the County and is used at the present time by the Fire Marshal's
office to police the industry.
The flammable and combustible liquids and dangerous chemicals fee schedule
is available in the County offices.
All of the above fees must be paid within 30 days of receipt of billing
sent out from the Fire Marshal's office, said billings to be mailed no later
than December 31 of each calendar year.
The penalty provision for failure to comply with the aforesaid fee schedule
shall be as follows: Any person or persons found in violation of this chapter
will be issued a citation and, upon conviction thereof at a summary proceeding,
be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than $25 nor more than $100 to be paid
for the use of Allegheny County, plus costs of prosecution, or to be imprisoned
in the Allegheny County jail for not more than 30 days and be ordered to comply
with the provisions of this chapter within 30 days.
