No overnight cabins for similar transient residential accommodation,
including household trailers either on or off wheels shall be permitted or
used for residential purposes in the Town of Colchester.
This prohibition shall not affect such buildings or trailer units actually
established and in residential use at a time of the enactment of this chapter,
but this chapter is to apply to any additions thereto.
The Board of Selectmen is authorized to issue permits for a period not
exceeding two weeks for the temporary use of household trailers for residential
purposes.
The Board of Selectmen is authorized to order the removal or discontinuance
of the use of any structure or trailer for residential use prohibited by this
chapter. In the event anyone neglects or refuses to comply with such order
of the Board of Selectmen, such person or persons shall be liable to the Town
of Colchester in the sum of $25 for each day of noncompliance with said order
after the expiration of the time limit for such removal or discontinuance,
which money may be recoverable against such person in a civil action by said
Town of Colchester.
Any violation of this chapter shall be deemed a violation of C.G.S.§ 53-174.
