This chapter is enacted as a measure to safeguard the residents of the Borough of Allendale and to protect their property.
No person or persons shall at any time fire or discharge or cause to be fired or discharged any pistol, shotgun, rifle or other firearm within the limits of the Borough of Allendale.

Nothing in this chapter shall prohibit the use of firearms by police officers in the discharge of their duties, the use of firearms for the protection of life, person or property or the use of firearms pursuant to a wildlife management program approved by a resolution or ordinance adopted by the Borough Council.
Any person violating the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be punishable as provided in § 1-18 of Chapter 1, General Provisions.
