Fire prevention — See Ch. 111.
The Town Board shall designate a Chief Coordinator and an Assistant Chief Coordinator of fire operations within the Town of Greenville, said Chief to have control and authority over and supervision of all members of the various fire companies or departments contracting with said Town at all fires or other occasions when the said companies shall be officially called upon for assistance; said Assistant Chief Coordinator shall have the same duties and authority as the Chief when the Chief shall not be physically present, and at all other times shall perform such duties as shall be entrusted to him by the Chief Coordinator.
No person who has not obtained a certificate of training from the New York State Fire Training Course shall be eligible for appointment either for Chief Coordinator or Assistant Chief Coordinator.
Each company shall, at least 30 days prior to January 1 of each year, submit the names of not more than two eligible candidates for the aforesaid positions of Chief and Assistant Chief to the Town Board, and said Town Board shall, at its first meeting in January of each year, appoint a Chief and Assistant Chief Coordinator, who shall hold office for a period of one year or until their respective successors have been duly chosen and appointed by said Board. The Chief and Assistant Chief shall not be members of the same company or department, and the position of Chief shall be rotated between and among the various companies within the Town, so that said Chief shall not be from the same company in successive years.
All orders and directives of the Chief or Assistant Chief shall be delivered to the Chief or Captain of the respective companies or departments for dissemination to the members of such companies.
A. 
The internal organization of each of the companies shall remain with the companies and they shall operate as separate entities and shall have exclusive control over its equipment and personnel, except when actively engaged in fire fighting or other renditions of service to the community and shall not otherwise be subject to the control and supervision of the Chief or Assistant Chief Coordinator.
B. 
Each company shall file monthly reports with the Town Clerk as to the condition of its equipment and its availability for service.
