The Planning Commission shall perform all duties and may exercise all powers conferred to it by Article II, Planning Agencies, of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code.[1]

All members of the Planning Commission shall be appointed by Silverdale Borough Council by resolution, which shall also state the term to be filled by each Planning Commission member.
A. 
The Planning commission shall consist of seven members, all of whom shall be citizens of the Borough of Silverdale.
B. 
The term of office of the members shall be four years and should expire on December 31 or until a successor is appointed, except that the terms of the members first appointed shall be so fixed that no more than two shall be so reappointed during any future calendar year.
C. 
In the event of vacancies, the Silverdale Borough Council shall appoint a member to fill the unexpired term.
D. 
Silverdale Borough Council may appoint by resolution two residents of the Borough to serve as alternate members of the Planning Commission. The term of office shall be four years.

The Planning Commission may, with the consent of Silverdale Borough Council, accept and utilize any funds, personnel or other assistance made available by the county, the commonwealth, or the federal government, or any of agencies, or from private sources. Silverdale Borough Council may enter into agreements or contracts regarding the acceptance or utilization of the funds or assistance in accordance with the governmental procedures of the municipality.
