Pursuant to § 44-146.19 of the Code of Virginia, the Board of Supervisors hereby adopts the Shenandoah County Emergency Operations Plan, dated April 26, 1994, as the official plan for county emergency services. Such plan may be amended periodically as needed by resolution of the Board of Supervisors.
Pursuant to § 44-146.19 of the Code of Virginia, the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors shall be the Director of Emergency Services; provided, however, that the Board of Supervisors may by resolution delegate the duties of the Director of Emergency Services to an employee of the Office of County Administration. It shall be the duty of the Director of Emergency Services to direct the implementation of the county's Emergency Operations Plan.
A. 
Pursuant to § 44-146.19 of the Code of Virginia, the Director of Emergency Services shall appoint a coordinator of emergency services. Such Emergency Services Coordinator shall be the Director of the Emergency Operations Center, and the Deputy Emergency Services Coordinator shall be the Fire Marshal, unless the Director of Emergency Services specifically appoints other persons to these positions.
B. 
Pursuant to § 44-146.38 of the Code of Virginia, the Director of Emergency Services shall appoint a coordinator of hazardous materials. Such Hazardous Materials Coordinator shall be the Fire Marshal, and the Deputy Hazardous Materials Coordinator shall be the Director of the Emergency Operations Center, unless the Director of Emergency Services specifically appoints other persons to these positions.
