No person shall sell, vend or peddle any goods, wares or merchandise upon the streets or from house to house in the Town of Ridgely, Caroline County, Maryland (except local residents and farmers selling fruits, vegetables, eggs and farm produce which they have raised or produced themselves), without first securing a license or permit to do so from the Town Clerk/Treasurer or the Commissioners of Ridgely.
The Town Clerk/Treasurer or the Commissioners of Ridgely are authorized to issue an annual peddler's license or permit, upon payment of a fee as set forth from time to time by the Commissioners by resolution, to applicants who may desire to sell, vend or peddle any goods, wares or merchandise upon the streets or from house to house in the Town of Ridgely as aforesaid. Prior to the issuance of said permit or license, all applicants shall sign an application blank for the same listing their names, ages, residences, places of business, names of their employers or firms which they represent and other pertinent data, and said application shall be accompanied by a snapshot or picture of the applicant so that he or she may be identified.

Any person violating the provisions of § 132-1 of this chapter without first securing the peddler's license or permit provided for herein shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be subject to a fine of not less than $5 and not more than $25 for each offense.
