All businesses located within the Town of Dover must register said business
with the offices of the Municipal Clerk and/or his designee. All businesses
will be required to register within 90 days of the passage of this chapter.
New businesses will be required to register prior to receiving requisite approvals
from the Building/Construction Office.
The Municipal Clerk and/or his designee will promulgate the necessary
registry with business owners which will require the following information:
their principal owners, addresses and/or incorporation data, telephone numbers
and telephone numbers where owners can be reached after the close of business
as well as compliance with state statutory requirements mandated by the Fire
Department and/or the Office of Emergency Management.
Businesses will be required to update this information on an annual
basis, and there shall be an administrative fee of $5 imposed to offset costs
associated with maintaining said registry. Businesses that are required to
obtain other annual licenses from the Town of Dover will be exempt from
the administration fee.
Any person, firm or corporation failing to register with the Municipal
Clerk and/or his designee and/or to annually update their registry shall be
subjected to a fine not exceeding $200 for the first violation and not more
than $500 for any subsequent violation.
