This chapter is enacted under the authority
granted by N.J.S.A. 33:1-1 et seq., An Act Concerning Alcoholic Beverages,
being P.L. 1933, c. 436, as supplemented and amended, and in accordance
with the rules and regulations promulgated by the Director of the
Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control of the State of New Jersey
and other applicable laws of the State of New Jersey.
For the purpose of this chapter, words and phrases
herein shall have the same meanings as they have in N.J.S.A. 33:1-1
et seq. and the rules and regulations of the Director of the Division
of Alcoholic Beverage Control, as supplemented and amended.
The Township Committee of the Township of Kingwood,
being the governing body of said municipality, shall constitute the
authority for the issuance of licenses and shall otherwise administer
the provisions of this chapter.
It shall be unlawful to sell or distribute alcoholic
beverages in the Township of Kingwood without a valid license currently
in effect, or contrary to the provisions of this chapter or applicable
state laws and regulations.

Except as otherwise provided in N.J.S.A. 33:1-1 et seq., any person violating any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the penalty provisions in Chapter
1, General Provisions, Article
II, General Penalties, of the Township Code. Each day such violation is committed or permitted to continue shall constitute a separate offense and shall be punishable as such.
