The Talbot County Sanitary District, Inc., a
body politic and corporate, created by Resolution No. 100 of the County
Commissioners of Talbot County on November 12, 1971, is hereby abolished.
All the functions, duties and responsibilities of the Talbot County
Sanitary District, Inc., shall be assumed by the Department of Public
Works. No presently existing obligation, contract right or grant application
shall in any way be impaired by the provisions of this chapter, and
all existing obligations of the Talbot County Sanitary District, Inc.,
shall devolve upon and be assumed by Talbot County. All contract rights
and all property or interests therein of the Talbot County Sanitary
District, Inc., whether real, personal or mixed, shall vest in and
become the property of Talbot County.
The Talbot County Sanitary District No. 2 heretofore
created by the Commissioners of Talbot County Sanitary District on
June 5, 1972, and approved by the County Commissioners of Talbot County,
and described on a plat titled "Talbot County Sanitary District, Sanitary
District No. 2, St. Michaels, Rio Vista, Bentley-Hay, Royal Oak Areas,
Talbot County, Maryland 1972, Revised May, 1972," filed among the
plat records of Talbot County, is not abolished and shall continue
for its original purpose under the administration of the Department
of Public Works.
The County Manager shall file a copy of this
chapter with the State Department of Assessments and Taxation, and
upon June 4, 1977, the corporate existence of the Talbot County Sanitary
District, Inc., shall cease.
