A. 
It is the considered opinion of the Mayor and Council that senior citizens of low income in the community are entitled to safe and sanitary accommodations at rentals such persons can afford.
B. 
The borough is desirous of participating in the Housing Authority of Bergen County for the sole purpose of receiving rent subsidies on a lease basis for the senior citizens of Maywood.
C. 
The Mayor and Council are not desirous of participating in any other respect with the Housing Authority of Bergen County other than the leasing program to subsidize senior citizens.
This chapter shall not be interpreted so as to give the Housing Authority of Bergen County any rights as to construction, rehabilitation, condemnation or otherwise within the boundaries of the borough.
The Borough Clerk be and is hereby authorized and directed to file a certified copy of this chapter with the Commissioner of the State Department of Conservation and Economic Development and with the Secretary of the Housing Authority of Bergen County.
