Under the direct supervision of the Village President, the Chief of Police will:
A. 
Conduct himself/herself in accordance with all Village of Williamsville Police Department policies and procedures.
B. 
Follow all lawful orders given to him/her by the Village President.
C. 
Perform all duties assigned to him/her by the Village President, including but not limited to patrol responsibilities.
D. 
Ensure appropriate law enforcement and investigate actions are taken by all Village Police Department officers, including but not limited to:
(1) 
Supervise all subordinate officers to ensure their conduct is in compliance with all Village of Williamsville Police Department polices and procedures.
(2) 
Ensure all officers within the Village Police Department under his/her command are appropriately trained and qualified to perform the duties assigned to them.
(3) 
Ensure all calls for service within the Village are answered, including but not limited to when no other officer is on duty.
E. 
Schedule shift times for all Village Police Department officers and track time sheets for the Village office staff for payroll purposes.
F. 
File all data as mandated by the State of Illinois.
G. 
Act as the liaison with media personnel concerning police matters within the Village.
H. 
Handle department correspondence and administrative duties/responsibilities.
I. 
Propose policy changes to the Village Board of Trustees and oversee implementation of any approved policy changes.
J. 
Report information regarding law enforcement actions taken within the Village to the Village President in a timely fashion.
Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Police or the Village President, the Lieutenant will:
A. 
Conduct himself/herself in accordance with all Village of Williamsville Police Department policies and procedures.
B. 
Follow all lawful orders given to him/her by a superior officer.
C. 
Perform all duties assigned to him/her by a superior officer, including but not limited to patrol responsibilities.
D. 
Ensure appropriate law enforcement and investigative actions are taken by all Village Police Department officers, including but not limited to:
(1) 
Ensure appropriate handling and storage of all evidence secured by himself/herself and/or other officers.
(2) 
Supervise all subordinate officers to ensure their conduct is in compliance with all Village of Williamsville Police Department polices and procedures.
(3) 
Ensure all calls for service within the Village are answered, including but not limited to when no other officer is on duty or the Village Chief of Police is unable to do so.
E. 
Report information regarding law enforcement actions taken within the Village to his/her superior officer in a timely fashion.
F. 
Assist the Village Chief of Police with his/her assigned duties as requested by any superior officer.
Under the direct supervision of his/her superior officers, the Sergeant will:
A. 
Conduct himself/herself in accordance with all Village of Williamsville Police Department policies and procedures.
B. 
Follow all lawful orders given to him/her by a superior officer.
C. 
Perform all duties assigned to him/her by a superior officer, including but not limited to patrol responsibilities.
D. 
Ensure appropriate handling and storage of all evidence secured by himself/herself and/or other officers.
E. 
Act in a quasi-supervisory capacity when directed to do so by a superior officer.
F. 
Report information regarding law enforcement actions taken within the Village to his/her superior officer in a timely fashion.
Under direct supervision of his/her superior officers, the patrol officer will:
A. 
Conduct himself/herself in accordance with all Village of Williamsville Police Department policies and procedures.
B. 
Follow all lawful orders given to him/her by a superior officer.
C. 
Perform all duties assigned to him/her by a superior officer, including but not limited to patrol responsibilities.
D. 
Report information regarding law enforcement actions taken within the Village to his/her superior officer in a timely fashion.
