There is hereby created the position of Director of Social Services in and for the Borough of Pennington.
Duties and responsibilities shall be as follows:
A. 
To provide information and referral services to community residents.
B. 
To serve as a liaison to the police and court as needed.
C. 
To provide information and referral services to the Police Department.
D. 
To provide social work assessment, when necessary.
E. 
To be responsible for linkage to appropriate community programs.
Qualifications for the position of Director of Social Services shall be as follows:
A. 
College graduate with a degree in social services or comparable area of study.
B. 
Previous experience in field of public assistance or social services.
C. 
An understanding and feeling for small-town atmosphere and the residents concerns.

The Director of Social Services shall be compensated as set forth in the Annual Salary Ordinance.
