The soliciting of orders or subscriptions for
books, magazines, publications or periodicals or solicitation for
the placing or giving of orders for goods, wares and merchandise and
services through the streets, highways or public places in the Village,
or from house-to-house in the Village, without a permit, as hereinafter
provided, is hereby prohibited.
Before any permit required under §
184-8 is issued, each individual applicant shall be required to apply therefor, in writing, and such applicant shall state the name and home address of the individual applicant and the name and address of the person whom he or she represents.

The permit required under §
184-8 shall be issued by the Village Clerk-Treasurer upon payment of a fee as set by the Board of Trustees by resolution of a majority vote of its members present at a Board meeting, and the same shall continue in full force and effect for
a period of one week from the date of issuance thereof.
Such permit shall cover and permit its use by
one individual solicitor only, and if any firm shall employ more than
one solicitor within the village, each of such solicitors shall be
required to obtain such permit.

Every person holding a permit hereunder shall
be required at all times when within the village to carry said permit
upon his or her person and shall be required to promptly display the
same upon demand of any village official, inspector and/or police
officer or of any householder being solicited for business.
