Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-135, there is hereby
created in and for the Borough, the office of Deputy Borough Clerk.
The Deputy Borough Clerk shall be nominated by the Mayor with the
advice and consent of Council.
The duties of such Deputy Borough Clerk shall
be to act as an assistant to the Borough Clerk and to perform such
duties in connection with the Clerk's Office as may designated by
the Mayor and Council.
The Deputy Borough Clerk shall have all the
powers and perform all the duties of the Borough Clerk during such
times and for such specific periods as the Borough Clerk shall be
absent.
The term of office of the Deputy Borough Clerk
shall be for the period of one year, the term to commence on January
1 of the year in which the appointment is made. The Deputy Borough
Clerk shall hold office for the duration of the term and until his
successor shall have been appointed and qualified.
The salary of the Deputy Borough Clerk shall
be as established in the Salary Ordinance.
