No driver of a taxicab, cab or other vehicle
offered to the public for the carriage of passengers for hire in the
Village of Lake George, excepting only drivers of omnibuses operating
on a duly authorized bus line, shall operate on any of the streets
or public places in said Village, unless such operator shall have
previously taken out and procured a license therefor, to be granted
and issued by the Mayor. The fee for such license shall be $25 for
the Village fiscal year or any part thereof, and the applicant or
operator must satisfy the Mayor or a committee of the Board of Trustees
that he is possessed of the following qualifications:
B. Properly licensed to operate a taxicab under the Vehicle
and Traffic Law of the State of New York.
C. Competent to drive a motor vehicle upon the streets
of the Village of Lake George.
D. Has a thorough knowledge of the laws of the State
of New York affecting or regulating the operation of motor vehicles,
the traffic ordinances of the Village of Lake George and this chapter.
Such license may be revoked by the Mayor upon
conviction of the licensee of the violation of any law of the State
of New York or any ordinance of the Village relating to motor vehicles,
taxicab or traffic upon the highways or village streets.

A. The prices which may be charged or collected for the
transportation of one or two passengers hereunder are as follows:
(1) Any two points within the Village: $12.
(2) Lake George to Queensbury: $15.
(3) Lake George to Glens Falls: $12.
(4) Lake George to Capital District: $90.
(5) Lake George to Saratoga Springs: $50.
(6) Lake George to Bolton Landing: $30.
B. Additional passengers: plus $1 each.
A copy of this article printed upon a card shall
be at all times visible in any cab licensed hereunder, for the inspection
of the passenger, and each cab shall prominently display at all times
the rate to be charged within the above area.

Every taxicab owner or operator violating any
of the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to a penalty of
$100 and the revocation of his license.
This chapter shall not apply to horse-drawn
carriages offering scenic rides to the general public for a fee.
