City of Geneva, NY Article I Superintendent of Building and Zoning

§ 22-1 Position established.

The position of "Superintendent of Building and Zoning" is hereby established to enforce the ordinances or portions thereof as hereinafter set forth.

§ 22-2 Designation of superintendent of building and zoning.

The Zoning and Building Coordinator is hereby designated as the Superintendent of Building and Zoning and shall have all of the duties and shall have all of the authority as hereinafter provided.

§ 22-3 Powers and duties.

A. Enforcement officer. The Superintendent of Building and Zoning shall be the enforcement officer of the following ordinances or provisions thereof:

(1) Chapter 105 of this Code, entitled "Building Construction";

(2) Chapter 111 of this Code, entitled "Buildings, Unsafe";

(3) Chapter 177 of this Code, entitled "Flood Damage Prevention";

(4) Chapter 199 of this Code, entitled "Hospitals and Similar Facilities";

(5) Chapter 202 of this Code, entitled "Housing Code";

(6) Chapter 264 of this Code, entitled "Property Maintenance Code";

(7) Chapter 273 of this Code, entitled "Sanitary Code";

(8) Chapter 288 of this Code, entitled "Signs and Fire Escapes";

(9) Chapter 310 of this Code, entitled "Subdivision Regulations";

(10) Chapter 332 of this Code, entitled "Vehicles, Abandoned"; and

(11) Chapter 350 of this Code, entitled "Zoning."

B. Additional responsibilities. The Superintendent of Building and Zoning shall have the authority to assist and/or act in the absence of the designated enforcement officer for the following ordinances or provisions thereof:

(1) Chapter 170 of this Code, entitled "Operating Permits"; and

(2) Chapter 171 of this Code, entitled "Firesafety and Property Maintenance Compliance."
