A.
The Town will provide health insurance coverage for all current full-time employees and their dependents.
B.
The Town will provide individual coverage only for all retirees who were full-time employees, provided that such retirees have had at least 10 years of service with the Town of Ghent; such retirees who were full-time employees wishing coverage for their dependents may secure the same by paying the additional premium required under the existing health insurance plan to extend coverage from individual coverage to dependent coverage.
C.
Anyone who works 30 hours per week or more on a regular basis shall be considered a full-time employee. For purposes of this article, the Building Inspector shall be considered a full-time employee.
D.
Part-time employees. For the purposes of this article, all elected part-time employees shall be eligible for health insurance coverage. Part-time employees who are appointed shall not be eligible for health insurance coverage. Such part-time elected employees shall be provided with individual coverage only. The Town will also provide individual coverage only for all such elected part-time employees, upon their retirement, provided that such retirees have had at least 10 years of service with the Town of Ghent. All part-time elected employees and all retirees who were part-time elected employees eligible for individual health insurance coverage, may secure dependent coverage by paying the additional premium required under the existing health insurance plan to extend coverage from individual coverage to dependent coverage. The provisions set forth herein shall not affect the coverage provided for part-time employees currently enrolled as of this date in the family plan, which shall continue in full force and effect.
E.
The provisions set forth herein with regard to retirees shall not affect the coverage provided for current retirees or employees with designated retirement dates in 1993, but shall only apply to employees who hereafter elect to retire and are otherwise eligible.
F.
The Town may elect to provide health insurance coverage for full-time employees, elected part-time employees and retirees pursuant to such plan or plans as it deems appropriate and the Town shall have the authority to change coverages and plans from time to time as, in its sole discretion, it deems to be in the best interests of the Town. The Town may amend the provisions set forth in this article concerning eligibility for health insurance coverage from time to time as it may deem appropriate by subsequent resolution.
