The Village of Orfordville is a body corporate
and politic with the powers of a municipality at common law and governed
by the provisions of Chs. 61 and 66, Wis. Stats., laws amending those
chapters, other acts of the legislature and the Constitution of the
State of Wisconsin.
The voting polls in the Village of Orfordville,
Rock County, Wisconsin, shall be opened from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
for all elections.

A. The Village shall not have an official newspaper.
B. In lieu of newspaper publication, pursuant to § 985.05(1),
Wis. Stats., the Village directs that legal notices shall be posted
except those legal notices required by law to be published in a newspaper.
C. Posting shall be as follows:
(1) The notice must be posted in at least three public
places likely to give notice to the persons affected.
(2) The notice posted before the act or event requiring
notice shall be posted no later then the time specified for the first
newspaper publication.
(3) The notice posted after the act or event requiring
notice shall be posted within one week after the act or event.
(4) Acts or events of the Village posted after the event
shall be effective upon posting.
(5) The affidavit of the Village officer or employee posting
the legal notice containing the time, place, and manner of the posting
is presumptive evidence of the facts stated therein.
D. Newspaper publication is required for the legal notices
set forth in § 985.05(1), Wis. Stats., and any other legal
notices required by law to be published in a newspaper.
E. If newspaper publication of any legal notices is required
by law, the publication shall be in a newspaper meeting the qualifications
of § 985.03(1), Wis. Stats.
The Village Clerk-Treasurer shall have the authority
to determine, based upon the projected size of each election, whether
to have three, five, or seven election workers for each shift. The
Clerk-Treasurer will also determine if tabulators are needed to be
called in after each election for counting and will call up to four
tabulators if needed. The Village Clerk-Treasurer shall have the power
to increase the number of election officials or utilize double shifts.
The Clerk-Treasurer shall determine in advance of each election whether
the number of election officials for such election should be reduced
from the number prescribed by the Wisconsin Statutes, and, if such
a reduction is so determined, the Clerk-Treasurer shall further redistribute
duties among the remaining officials.
