A.ย 
Wherever a space is marked off on any street for the parking of an individual vehicle, every vehicle parked there shall be parked wholly within the lines bounding that space, and it shall be a violation of this article for any person to park a vehicle or allow it to remain parked otherwise.
B.ย 
Lines and/or markings shall be painted or placed upon the various metered lots hereby established, adjacent to each parking meter, for the purpose of designating the parking space for which such meter shall be used. Each vehicle parked adjacent to any parking meter shall be parked within the lines or markings so placed and applicable to such meter. It shall be unlawful and a violation of this article for any person:
(1)ย 
To park any vehicle across any such line or marking.
(2)ย 
To park any vehicle in such a position that such vehicle shall not be within the area so designated by such lines or markings.
(3)ย 
To park a vehicle elsewhere in any such lot than in an individual parking space adjacent to a parking meter.
C.ย 
Lines and/or markings shall be painted or placed upon the various levels of the Pomfret Street Parking Garage for the purpose of designating the parking spaces within which vehicles shall be parked. Each vehicle utilizing said facility shall be parked within the lines or markings so placed. It shall be unlawful and a violation of this article for any person:
(1)ย 
To park any vehicle across any such line or marking.
(2)ย 
To park any vehicle in such a position that such vehicle shall not be within the area so designated by such lines or markings.
(3)ย 
To park a vehicle elsewhere in said Pomfret Street Parking Garage other than in an individual parking space.

No person shall park a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule XIV (ยงย 244-96), attached to and made a part of this chapter, except at the angle designated and only within the painted stall lines. On all streets or portions thereof where angle parking is now or shall hereafter be authorized, all vehicles parked thereon shall be parked with the front thereof nearest the curb.
No person shall park a vehicle at any time upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule XV (ยงย 244-97), attached to and made a part of this chapter.

No person shall park any commercial vehicle, tractor, trailer or tractor-trailer combination of over three tons (6,000 pounds) in gross weight, except for vehicles making local deliveries, repairs or installations, public utility vehicles, fire and rescue equipment, garbage and rubbish vehicles and school or public transportation buses, or allow the same to remain parked upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule XXI (ยงย 244-103), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XVI (ยงย 244-98), attached to and made a part of this chapter, during the hours specified on the days indicated in said schedule, except legal holidays.
No person shall park a vehicle or allow the same to remain parked upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XVII (ยงย 244-99), attached to and made a part of this chapter, between the hours specified, for longer than the time indicated in said schedule.
It shall be unlawful for any person to park any vehicle or to allow the same to remain parked in any special-purpose parking zone established in Schedule XVIII (ยงย 244-100), attached to and made a part of this chapter, except as specifically provided for such zone.

Except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or to protect the safety of any person or vehicle or in compliance with law or the directions of a police officer or official traffic control device, no person shall:
A.ย 
Park a vehicle at any place where official signs prohibit standing or parking.
B.ย 
Park a vehicle on private property without the consent of the owner or other person in control or possession of the property except in the case of emergency or disablement of the vehicle, in which case the operator shall arrange for the removal of the vehicle as soon as possible.
C.ย 
Park a vehicle on the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked at the edge or curb of a street, except that a pedacycle may be parked on the roadway abreast of another pedacycle or pedacycles near the side of the roadway at any location where parking is allowed.
D.ย 
Park a vehicle on a sidewalk, except that a pedacycle may be parked on a sidewalk, unless otherwise prohibited, if it does not impede the normal and reasonable movement of pedestrian or other traffic.
E.ย 
Park a vehicle on a crosswalk.
F.ย 
Park a vehicle upon a two-way highway with the left-hand wheels nearest the curb, i.e., park against traffic.
G.ย 
Park a vehicle in front of a public or private driveway.
H.ย 
Park a vehicle within 20 feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station or, when properly sign posted, on the side of a street opposite the entrance to any fire station within 75 feet of the entrance.
I.ย 
Park a vehicle within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.
J.ย 
Park a vehicle alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction when parking would obstruct traffic.
K.ย 
Park a vehicle within 30 feet upon the approach to any flashing signal, stop sign, yield sign or traffic control signal located at the site of a roadway.
L.ย 
Park a vehicle within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection.
M.ย 
Park a vehicle within an intersection.
N.ย 
Park a vehicle with its side wheels more than 12 inches from the curb or, in the absence of a curb, with its side wheels not being as close as practicable to the edge of the shoulder, except as otherwise permitted.
O.ย 
Park an unhitched trailer, recreational cargo trailer, recreational trailer, semitrailer, truck-camper or utility trailer on any public street of the Borough; except, however, a contractor's unhitched trailer may be parked on the public street immediately adjacent to the work site for which it is being used for a period not to exceed five consecutive days provided it does not create a hazardous condition. For purposes of this subsection, "unhitched" shall mean a trailer as described above that is not connected, attached, tethered or fastened in any way to a motor vehicle.

A.ย 
Any person who shall violate any provision of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine as set forth in ยงย 244-81, and in default of payment of such fine and costs, where such default is not caused by indigency, to imprisonment of not more than five days; provided, however, that it shall be the duty of the law enforcement officers of the Borough to report all violations of any provisions of this article, indicating, in each case:

(1)ย 
The section thereof violated.
(2)ย 
The license number of the vehicle involved in such violation.
(3)ย 
The location where such violation took place.
(4)ย 
The time of such violation.
(5)ย 
Any other facts that might be necessary in order to secure a clear understanding of the circumstances attending such violation.
B.ย 
The law enforcement officer making such report shall also attach to every such vehicle a notice that such vehicle was parked in violation of this article, which notice shall contain instructions to the owner or driver of such vehicle that, if he or she shall pay, for the use of the Borough, the sum of $15 within 10 days after the time of such notice, or the sum of $20 if paid after 10 days, the same shall save the violator from prosecution and from the additional payment of the costs of prosecution. Payment shall be made by United States Mail to the office of the Finance Director, in person at the Borough Hall, at the drop box at either the Borough Hall or the Police Department or by online Internet payment. The owner or driver shall be liable for the necessary postage if he or she mails such amount.

C.ย 
For purposes of this section and article, the term โ€œlaw enforcement officerโ€ shall be defined as set forth in the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure, as amended from time to time, and shall specifically include, but not be limited to, police officers, parking meter attendants, community service officers and similar officials.
