Pursuant to Act No. 247 of 1968, known as the "Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code," as amended, supplemented and in effect,[1] there is hereby created a Township Planning Commission, which shall have all the powers and duties conferred upon it by law and other powers vested in it by law or ordinance.

The Township Planning Commission shall consist of not fewer than three nor more than nine members, as the Board of Supervisors may from time to time determine by resolution. The members shall be appointed by the Board and shall serve without compensation, except that they shall be reimbursed for expenses incurred in carrying out their Commission duties. The Commission members shall elect annually a Chairman, who will preside over the meetings of the Commission, and a Vice Chairman. The Chairman shall not serve for more than two successive annual terms and shall not succeed himself/herself.
In addition to the powers, duties and responsibilities conferred upon said Commission by law, on or before March of each year, the Township Planning Commission shall make an annual report to the Board of Supervisors, showing its transactions and recommendations for the preceding calendar year. Said report shall review in substance all transactions and recommendations made during the year, together with any new recommendations which the Commission might wish to include.
