GENERAL REFERENCES

As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
HISTORICAL BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES
Any building or structure which is:
A. 
Importantly associated with one or more historic persons or events, or with the architectural, cultural, economic or social history of the Borough of Perkasie, County of Bucks, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or the United States of America; or
B. 
Historically or architecturally important by reason of period, style, method of building construction or association with a particular architect or builder, either by itself or in the context of a group of buildings or structures; or
C. 
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places or State Register of Historic Places.
Any owner of a building or structure located within the Borough may petition Borough Council on a form to be provided by the Borough to have his/her building or structure designated as an "historical building or structure."
A. 
Upon receipt of a petition, Borough Council shall place said petition on its agenda for consideration for approval.
B. 
Prior to a vote on said petition, Borough Council shall schedule and advertise a public hearing where interested persons may comment on the petition. The petitioner shall also be given an opportunity to present relevant information and testimony to Borough Council.
C. 
Action on the petition must be taken within 90 days of receipt of the petition by the Borough.
