No person shall operate a motor vehicle or any other vehicle
on any streets or public highways within the incorporated Village
of Liberty limits at a rate of speed in excess of 30 miles per hour
except on highways as follows:
A. Fifty-five miles per hour shall be the maximum speed at which vehicles
may proceed along State Highway No. 5322 also known as Route 17 Expressway.
B. Fifteen miles per hour shall be the maximum speed at which vehicles
may proceed along Lincoln Place from a point three 300 feet north
of the building line of St. Peters School to a point 300 feet south
of the building line of said school.
C. Twenty miles per hour shall be the maximum speed at which a vehicle
may proceed along Buckley Street from a point 300 feet northwest of
the building line of the Liberty High School to a point 300 feet southeast
of the building line of said school.

D. Twenty miles per hour shall be the maximum speed at which a vehicle
may proceed along North Main Street from a point 300 feet north of
the building line of the Liberty Elementary School to a point 300
feet south of the building line of said school.

E. Thirty miles per hour shall be the maximum limit at which a vehicle
may proceed along State Route 52 from the northerly Village line to
the southernmost point as it intersects with the Village line.
F. Thirty miles per hour shall be the maximum speed at which a vehicle
may proceed along Route 55 from a point at the intersection of Swan
Lake Road and Route 55 to a point where Route 55 intersects with the
easternmost Village limit line.
Signs shall be placed and maintained by the Village of Liberty
setting forth said speed limit in accordance with the provisions of
the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York.

The violation of this article shall constitute a violation pursuant
to the Penal Law and shall be punishable as follows:
A. Where the
court or tribunal records or enters that the speed upon which the
conviction was based exceeded the applicable speed limit by not more
than 10 miles per hour, by a fine of not less than $45 nor more than
$150;
B. Where the
court or tribunal records or enters that the speed upon which the
conviction was based exceeded the applicable speed limit by more than
10 miles per hour but not more than 30 miles per hour, by a fine of
not less than $90 nor more than $250;
C. Where the
court or tribunal records or enters that the speed upon which the
conviction was based exceeded the applicable speed limit by more than
30 miles per hour, by a fine of not less than $180 nor more than $250.
All ordinances of the Village of Liberty heretofore adopted
regulating the speed at which motor vehicles and motorcycles shall
be operated and the punishment prescribed therein for violation of
such ordinance be and the same hereby are repealed.
This article shall be effective immediately.
