For the purpose of promoting the health, safety,
morals and general welfare of the community by lessening congestion
in the streets, securing safety from fire, panic and other dangers;
by providing adequate light and air; preventing the overcrowding of
land; avoiding an undue concentration of population; facilitating
the adequate provision of transportation, water, schools and other
public requirements; and regulating the location and use of buildings,
structures and land for trade, industry, residence and other purposes
in accordance with a Comprehensive Plan, the Village Board of Trustees
does hereby enact the regulations set forth in this chapter.
This chapter may be known and may be cited as
the "Village of Owego Zoning Ordinance."
