There shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to approval by the Village Board of Trustees, a Plumbing Inspector, whose duties shall be to inspect the construction and alteration of all plumbing work and sewer connections performed in the Village and to report, in writing, the results of such inspections to the Building Inspector. He or she shall report plumbing work to the Building Inspector and shall also perform such other duties as may be assigned to him or her by the Village Board of Trustees. It shall be the duty of the Plumbing Inspector to make all inspections required under this chapter promptly.
It shall be his duty to examine the plans and specifications submitted for approval, to see that they conform with all the requirements of the Codes of the State of New York and to examine all plumbing, both in new work and alterations. All work done under the provisions of this chapter and the materials used in such work shall be subject to the approval of the Plumbing Inspector.
A.
Before any plumbing work is started in a building or before any additions or alterations are made to old work, an application on regular printed forms properly completed and signed by a licensed Master Plumber shall be filed in the office of the Plumbing Inspector, together with plans and description in duplicate showing and describing the proposed work; except that where only stoppages are removed, or leaks repaired, or where plumbing fixtures are replaced without altering or disturbing any drain, soil, waste, or vent pipe, no application or permit will be required.
B.
The plumbing plans shall consist of such floor plans and sections as may be necessary to show clearly all the work to be done, including all sewers, drains, soils, waste and vent pipe lines, the location of fixtures and their traps and connections, together with all other information specifically requested by the Plumbing Inspector.
C.
No work shall proceed until the plumbing plans and specifications have been approved and a plumbing permit issued by the Building Inspector.
D.
Modification of approved plans, or of the work described therein, shall not be permitted unless such changes have been previously allowed by the Plumbing Inspector, on written application signed by the owner or architect.
E.
Plans are approved upon the condition that such approval expires by its own limitation six months from date of permit unless work under it is then in progress.
Before any work of plumbing or drainage shall be commenced in any building, or on any property, plans and specifications shall be filed with the Plumbing Inspector, and a permit must be obtained from the Building Inspector on payment of the required fee, as set forth by resolution of the Village Board of Trustees in the Master Fee Schedule, which may be amended.
