Pursuant to Subdivision 1 of § 405.00 of the Penal Law of
the State of New York, the Chief of Police is hereby designated the permit
authority to grant and issue permits for the public display of fireworks in
accordance with the provisions of § 405.00 of the Penal Law.
Except as otherwise provided in the Penal Law, each violation of any
provision of this chapter shall constitute a violation pursuant to the Penal
Law, punishable by a maximum fine of $500 or by imprisonment for not more
than 15 days, or both.
