A.
There shall be a commission for economic development in the Village of Port Chester, New York, for the purpose of:
(1)
Finding ways and means to attract businesses to the village.
(2)
Attempting to create jobs in the private sector and seeking job opportunities for citizens of the village.
(3)
Encouraging and assisting individuals to open up businesses in the village.
(4)
Acting as a liaison between the Board of Trustees, general public, Chamber of Commerce, union locals and other business labor groups.
(6)
Maintaining liaison with the Industrial Development Agency of the Village of Port Chester.
(7)
Maintaining liaison with the Commissioner and the Department of State, pursuant to the provisions of Article 4 of the Commerce Law, and cooperating with said agencies for the purpose of promoting coordination as to economic development and other benefits set forth in said Article 4 of the Commerce Law.
B.
The Commission shall be known as the "Economic Development Commission."
