[By the Laws of 1972, Chapter 939, Section 1 (§ 519 of
the Public Housing Law), the Village of Groton Housing Authority was created,
effective on June 8, 1972, and operative upon voter approval at referendum
held January 9, 1973. By resolution passed by the Board of Trustees on May
19, 1980, the Village of Groton Housing Authority was expanded from the five
to seven members; this resolution further provided that the members of the
Authority who are first appointed to serve in the two newly created seats
shall be designated to serve for terms to expire on January 31, 1981, and
January 31, 1982, respectively; thereafter, the terms of office of the members
appointed to these two positions shall be five years.]
