The Town Assessor, in addition to his duties as Assessor, be and hereby is charged with the duty of completing and maintaining the property record cards and other records supplied by the county.
The Town Assessor, in addition to his duties as Assessor, be and hereby is charged with the duty of completing and rendering the monthly reports required by § 574 of the Real Property Tax Law and all other reports required by law, the State Board of Equalization and Assessment and the Ulster County Real Property Tax Service Agency.
The Town Assessor be and hereby is directed to meet at least once each month to advise the Assessment Liaison Committee of the Town Board of the Town of Lloyd and to complete the assessment of properties transferred during the previous month, to transact such other business as may come before the Assessor and to complete the report required by § 574 of the Real Property Tax Law.
Each Assessor shall be expected to participate in the review of such assessments as may be protested before the Assessment Review Board.
The office of sole Assessor shall be located at the Town Hall, 12 Church Street, Highland, New York.
The salary of the sole Assessor shall be set by the Town Board of the Town of Lloyd at the reorganizational meeting of the Town Board.
The Assessor shall be paid $0.15 per mile for the use of his personal automobile and all other personal expenses as required in attendance at training classes sponsored by the county or the State Board, required in the performance of his duties.
The sole Assessor shall refrain from any partisan political activity within the Town of Lloyd.
The sole Assessor shall not, individually or in combination with other persons or organizations, engage in the sale, resale or appraisal of real property within the Town of Lloyd, either directly or indirectly, with the exception of his personal residence should he choose to become a resident of the Town of Lloyd. Records developed during the performance of official duties do become the property of the Town of Lloyd, and the Assessor shall ensure availability to the Town Board of the Town of Lloyd.
Upon passage of this chapter, the signatures of the Town Board and the sole Assessor shall constitute the chapter as an agreement by both the Town Board and the Assessor to the terms of the chapter and that each will abide thereby.
