It is hereby declared to be unlawful to park
or display unlicensed vehicles for purposes of storage or sale in
or upon a highway or public right-of-way or within 40 feet of the
edge of the pavement of state, county or Town highways or public roadways
within the Town of Lloyd, or within 40 feet of any intersection of
the aforementioned highways, unless in compliance with Town licensing
and/or Zoning Codes. Vehicles owned and/or operated by the federal, state,
county or Town government or agencies thereof or operated by the Town
or any other municipality, including public water, sewer, fire or
ambulance districts, shall be exempt from provisions of this section.
No owner of private property, lessee, tenant
or occupant of residential private property shall place a "for sale"
sign or allow sales, or offers to sell, more than one vehicle at a
time, without being a new vehicle dealer, or without a license from
the Town of Lloyd under Chapter 69 of the Code of the Town of Lloyd
to sell used vehicles. The single unlicensed vehicle allowed must
belong to an owner or occupant of the premises upon which it is parked.
Such unlicensed vehicles shall only be parked or stored in the back
yard or in the driveway for single-family or duplex residences, or
for multiple-family residences in designated parking areas. Each single
vehicle allowed to be sold under the section of the Code must be sold
or removed from the property within six months of the date it was
first displayed for sale in compliance with this article of the Town
Code. Unlicensed vehicles must be in presentable and operating condition,
and no vehicle parts for sale will be displayed, nor any partial dismantling
of the vehicle be permitted. No commercial vehicles, exceeding 10,000
pounds gross vehicular weight, will be permitted to be displayed for
sale in any residential area within the Town of Lloyd.
